Create Your Own Garden Retreat with Old Windows and Doors!

I found this picture on Pinterest and was immediately smitten!  Don’t we all dream of the day when our lives will slow down enough to create a beautiful backyard garden, complete with flowers, fountains, and a relaxing retreat just like this one?  When I clicked on the Pinterest photo, it took me to an article by Better Homes and Gardens, where they outline how we can create our own garden retreats. We can even download a free PDF layout of this home’s framework!  I calculated that if we use salvaged materials such as old windows and doors, and construct with our own sweat equity, this garden structure could probably be made for a very affordable price!

I was so inspired that I started a new Doors by Design Pinterest board, dedicated specifically to using doors in outdoor gardening.  For me, it might take some time before I am able to create the garden of my dreams, but maybe this board will serve to inspire someone in a more “bloomable” season of life.
